shift ends 6 o'clock

Need a hint?

Old buildings often have their date carved in stone. Look for the year the mill opened: the first two digits are still readable.

Room 02

The weaver's wheel

A torn note in scrambled letters, and a brass wheel. Drag the inner ring round (or use the arrows) and watch the note.

“the weaver turned it seven times”

Need a hint?

It's a shift cipher: every letter has been moved along the alphabet by the same amount. The note tells you how many turns.

Room 03

The padlock

Four dials. The first two digits are on the office wall, the last two are in the weaver's note.

Set the code

Need a hint?

Two digits from the carved date stone, then the two numbers from the decoded note, in that order. It's the year Charles Roe built Macclesfield's first silk mill.
